- Set data architecture principles and engineering standards for a critical data domain
- Lead the delivery of large-scale, business-critical data initiatives
- Steer architectural decisions across teams and platforms
- Oversee pipeline monitoring, data quality, lineage, and operational excellence
- Set measurable service objectives and data reliability standards
- Build frameworks to detect and prevent data issues proactively
- Design and evolve distributed data processing for analytics, product, and AI workloads
- Improve infrastructure, tools, and developer experience
- Drive platform modernization and performance improvements at scale
- Mentor engineers in system design, engineering quality, and modern development practices
- Lead technical reviews and architectural discussions
- Encourage continuous improvement and shared learning
- Set standards for responsible, effective AI use across the engineering lifecycle
- Assess AI-enabled engineering tools and identify ways to speed up delivery
- Help teams adopt AI tools while upholding quality, validation, and governance standards
Requirements
- Extensive experience building and operating modern data platforms with Python, SQL, and cloud-native technologies
- Strong knowledge of distributed data processing, orchestration frameworks, streaming architectures, and data platform operations
- Track record of leading technical initiatives across multiple teams
- Experience establishing architectural patterns, engineering standards, and platform best practices
- Strong systems-thinking ability
- Skill in working with stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Advanced understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and responsible use in engineering workflows
- Experience with AI-powered development tools
- Strong communication skills to shape technical direction through collaboration, documentation, and mentoring
- Valid authorization to work in the United States is required
