Security and Compliance Manager – Netherlands (Hybrid)
Lead security and compliance for Destinus’s UAV defense facilities and classified operations in the Netherlands. Oversee physical security, Dutch regulatory compliance, audits, and organization-wide security awareness.
Description
- Own and continuously improve physical security across Dutch production, engineering, office, and storage sites
- Assess facility security risks and convert findings into effective protective measures
- Manage CCTV, intrusion detection, electronic access control, and related physical security systems
- Coordinate security monitoring and ensure incidents, alarms, and anomalies receive an effective response
- Create and maintain incident response, emergency, and escalation procedures, and lead investigations into security incidents
- Manage licensed security providers, contracts, and operational requirements for guarding services
- Verify that security personnel meet Dutch requirements, including valid Beveiligingspas or legitimatiebewijs obligations, and monitor their performance
- Lead compliance with Dutch defense security requirements, including ABDO 2019 and ABRO
- Support MIVD and Bureau Industrieveiligheid compliance, including facility authorisations, security reviews, and periodic audits
- Support Wet veiligheidsonderzoeken processes, including vertrouwensfuncties and VGB security clearances
- Ensure NATO, EU, and other classified information is handled and protected appropriately
- Support compliance with cybersecurity, business continuity, data protection, and regulatory frameworks including Cyberbeveiligingswet, NIS2, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301, and GDPR
- Support export control and other defense-related security obligations
- Coordinate security audits, compliance reviews, regulatory inspections, and remediation work
- Engage with government and security authorities when necessary
- Improve supply chain and logistics security for sensitive technologies, materials, equipment, and components
- Support supplier security requirements and align logistics processes with export control and defense security obligations
- Strengthen security culture through awareness initiatives, practical training, drills, and incident response exercises
- Ensure employees know how to protect sensitive information, recognize security risks, and report incidents correctly
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in security management, risk management, information security, engineering, or a related discipline
- At least seven years of relevant experience in corporate, military, government, or industrial security
- Background in defense, critical infrastructure, aerospace, or another highly regulated security environment
- Strong knowledge of Dutch defense security and classified information protection requirements
- Practical experience managing physical security operations, facility protection, and security service providers
- Hands-on experience with CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related physical security technologies
- Experience supporting security audits, regulatory inspections, risk assessments, and compliance programs
- Experience creating and delivering security awareness and training programs
- Understanding of information security, business continuity, data protection, and supply chain security frameworks
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to turn complex regulations into practical actions
- Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office and fluency in Dutch and English are mandatory for this position.
