SAS and Python Developer
Convert SAS procedures to Python and support data migration at Italian IT consultancy B&A Consulting. Fully remote role based in Italy.
Description
- Review existing procedures built in SAS Enterprise Guide
- Understand the functional logic behind each procedure
- Translate and reengineer SAS code in Python
- Identify architectural and performance improvements
- Convert manual procedures into serverless AWS processes where applicable
- Test and compare SAS and Python outputs
- Support testing, acceptance, and release activities
- Prepare test evidence and documentation
- Share knowledge with the internal team
- Establish maintenance best practices for converted procedures
- Contribute to an application reengineering and data migration project
Requirements
- Strong Python skills
- Working knowledge of SAS Enterprise Guide
- Experience with Base SAS
- Experience with SAS Macro Language
- Experience with PROC SQL
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Ability to analyze and reengineer existing code
- Experience testing and validating outputs through comparison
- Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL is preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
