Description
- Build event brands and visual identities through themes, logos, color systems, and design guidelines.
- Produce digital graphics, event guides, fact sheets, information papers, flyers, and social media assets.
- Develop and update presentation templates and format decks for speakers and leadership.
- Create visual assets for branded event websites, mobile applications, and email campaigns.
- Design and maintain event pages, layouts, and landing pages.
- Keep web experiences intuitive, responsive, and compliant with Section 508 and web accessibility standards.
- Produce walk-on videos, session openers, and other multimedia materials.
- Add captions and other accessibility features to video content.
- Create directional, registration, session, and digital signage, along with name badges and related on-site materials.
- Implement signage updates at event venues as needed.
- Design certificates, plaques, trophies, and commemorative products, including engraving and print-ready layouts.
- Prepare design proofs for government review and approval.
- Apply Section 508 requirements to design deliverables, including color contrast, alternative text, and accessible PDF formatting.
- Provide editable source files and organize assets for delivery to the government-designated repository.
- Coordinate with the Strategic Communications Specialist and copy editor.
- Assist with editing photography and video captured after events.
- Track government review revisions and complete deliverables by deadline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least three years of professional graphic design experience, supported by a portfolio covering event, print, and digital work.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, plus Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience using tools for photo and video editing.
- Practical knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and accessible PDF production.
- Careful, detail-oriented work style with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadline-driven revisions.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to complete an HHS background investigation successfully.
- No security clearance is required.
- Experience serving federal agencies or designing for large-scale conferences is preferred.
