Remote Graphic Designer - Adobe InDesign and Illustrator

Description

  • Support plain-language communications and accessibility outreach across platforms and formats, including fact sheets, infographics, social media content, and television and radio public service announcements.
  • Create infographics and other graphics for HHS OMH materials.
  • Advise on and provide graphic design support for fact sheets, infographics, posters, brochures, and related materials.
  • Apply HHS OMH brand guidelines and style guides consistently across designs.
  • Recreate documents using Adobe InDesign.
  • Update PDF documents promptly based on direction from the Project Manager and HHS OMH.
  • Handle multiple graphic design and PDF layout assignments simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Participate in project status meetings at least every two weeks.
  • Help HHS OMH communicate more effectively with limited-English-proficiency communities and expand access to health and wellness information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience providing graphic design and/or PDF layout support.
  • At least three years of professional experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Ability to manage multiple graphic design and PDF layout assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Eligibility for an HHS Public Trust security clearance.
  • Intermediate or advanced Section 508 compliance skills in Microsoft 365 or Adobe Acrobat are preferred but not required.
  • Experience applying human-centered design principles is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and video editing software is preferred but not required.
  • Federal government, government contracting, or public health experience is preferred but not required.
