Remote Contract Accounting Manager
Accounting Manager contractor supporting Elicio Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company. Leads close, accruals, reporting, payroll, leases, and controls during six-month leave coverage.
Description
- Lead daily close and accrual work, preparing and reviewing journal entries
- Prepare monthly R&D accruals with department leaders and external contract research organizations
- Calculate quarterly stock-based compensation
- Calculate warrant liabilities
- Manage leases, reconciliations, and monthly journal entries
- Prepare internal reporting materials
- Supervise the senior accountant and review reconciliations and journal entries
- Manage accounts payable and payroll
- Coordinate across teams to support communication, problem-solving, and effective execution
- Handle additional projects as needed
- Report to the Assistant Controller
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance required
- Master's degree preferred
- At least five years of relevant accounting experience in biotech or life sciences
- Public accounting experience preferred
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, GAAP, accounts payable, payroll, and accruals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and address gaps in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working in a busy office and laboratory setting with frequent deadlines and interruptions
- Able to sit or stand for periods and monitor data visually
