Mid-Level Systems Engineer, Sterling, VA (Onsite)

Mid-level Systems Engineer supporting CACI’s FADE team through API management, technical documentation, system integration, and testing. Contribute to U.S. Government intelligence and defense missions.

Description

  • Collaborate on the FADE team with agile delivery, product, infrastructure, site reliability engineering, and security groups
  • Track system changes as new capabilities are introduced
  • Document existing program interfaces and monitor interface updates and additions
  • Coordinate interface modifications with the government customer and FADE teams
  • Manage and maintain the program’s technical documentation
  • Develop and execute dynamic document generation from system interfaces
  • Support externally facing APIs and connected entities using custom APIs, OGC API standards, API gateways, and related technologies
  • Manage new API data-sharing requests and lead Technical Exchange Meetings with external customers
  • Provide technical integration assistance and troubleshoot user issues
  • Present technical briefings to the FADE Program Management Office for integration approval
  • Assist with API testing for endpoint modifications and customer integration scenarios
  • Coordinate work across customers, systems engineers, developers, and mission operations teams
  • Evaluate system requirements and contribute to design and development work as needed

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, engineering management, or a related field from an accredited institution, plus at least five years of relevant experience
  • Five additional years of systems engineering experience may replace the bachelor’s degree requirement
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Technical writing experience covering concepts of operation, software release notes, user guides, test procedures, engineering and architecture diagrams, and presentations
  • Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and testing REST APIs
  • Experience building and using dashboarding tools such as Grafana and ELK
  • Experience reviewing system and user activity logs
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, OGC WFS and WMS standards, real-time streaming and WebSocket technologies, GeoServer, Jupyter Notebooks, and Kafka
  • Experience developing and maintaining Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts preferred
  • Experience developing or maintaining DoD Architecture Framework views preferred
  • Experience with automated frameworks for API-level testing preferred
