Description
- Track news, launches, and structural changes across prediction markets and perpetual futures
- Monitor X, Discord, Telegram, and other trader communities for sentiment changes and emerging trends
- Analyze trading volume, open interest, funding rates, and market share across major venues
- Assess how recent events affect Pyth and communicate timely insights to the team
- Maintain an up-to-date view of competitors, including oracle and data providers
- Research prediction market and perpetual futures protocols to understand their use of price data
- Map user needs and identify gaps in existing solutions
- Create dashboards and datasets to monitor relevant markets
- Translate research findings into actionable product concepts for Pyth
- Estimate opportunity sizes using market and on-chain data
- Partner with product, engineering, and business development to prioritize and test ideas
- Evaluate launched initiatives against their original thesis
- Write research reports for internal and external audiences
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership
- Develop a repeatable market research process
Requirements
- Experience as an analyst at a crypto research firm or in a research or data role at a perpetual futures exchange or prediction market
- Deep knowledge of prediction market and perpetual futures market structure
- Active participation in trader communities, with the ability to identify signals across X, Discord, and Telegram
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, Dune, or comparable data analysis tools
- Strong writing skills and a record of producing research that informs decisions
- Analytical, self-directed approach with the ability to independently own a research agenda
- Comfort working at startup speed as priorities and scope evolve
