Information Systems Administrator, Backup and Recovery
Administer enterprise backup systems, including Veeam, and maintain recovery objectives and disaster recovery processes. Support data restoration, audits, and a data center migration project.
Description
- Oversee and administer enterprise backup solutions, including Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Kasten.
- Maintain backup procedures, RPO/RTO requirements, and disaster recovery plans.
- Plan and conduct regular system recovery tests based on criticality tiers.
- Provide rapid data recovery support during data loss or ransomware incidents, meeting established RTO targets.
- Verify restored data integrity and functionality with system owners.
- Maintain an architecture aligned with the 3-2-1 backup principle, including immutable copies.
- Agree and maintain RPO and RTO targets for each system criticality class.
- Monitor storage capacity, optimize job schedules, and plan resource expansions.
- Prepare audit evidence and take part in a data center migration project.
Requirements
- Higher or incomplete higher education in IT is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in backup or systems administration.
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam.
- Understanding of the 3-2-1 principle, immutable copies, RPO, and RTO.
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere, SAN/NAS, and Linux/Windows Server fundamentals.
- Good Latvian and English skills, with English sufficient for technical documentation.
