Financial Analyst, Reporting and Automation — MSD
Automate FP&A reporting, develop Power BI dashboards and apply AI workflows for MSD’s Animal Health business in Australia and New Zealand.
Description
- Provide financial insights, analytics and dashboards to Animal Health teams in Australia and New Zealand
- Automate the extraction, transformation and distribution of recurring reports across both markets
- Improve month-end close, forecast packages and variance analysis processes
- Shorten report preparation cycles and increase efficiency
- Modernise FP&A reporting with available technology and AI-supported workflows
- Build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for commercial leaders
- Create consistent KPI scorecards for sales, gross-to-net, operating expenses and margin analysis
- Maintain reliable data refreshes and data integrity across models
- Provide analytics and reporting for planning, performance reviews and decisions
- Apply generative AI and prompt engineering to draft commentary, investigate variances and summarise trends
- Connect separate financial data sources with automation tools
- Work with commercial and cross-functional partners in Australia and New Zealand
- Turn complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations
- Build senior management relationships and assist with Finance Lead projects and activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data analytics or a related discipline
- Substantial experience in FP&A, financial reporting, business analytics or finance transformation
- Advanced Power BI capabilities, including DAX and Power Query
- Experience with Power Automate, SQL, VBA and SAP
- Practical use of enterprise AI tools for finance workflows and analysis
- Strong analytical ability and a capacity to look beyond the figures
- Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder influence
- Ability to build productive relationships and work with senior stakeholders
- Pharmaceutical or Animal Health experience is preferred but not essential
- CPA, CA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification is advantageous
- Travel of up to one week per month may be required
- Visa sponsorship is unavailable
- A valid driving licence is not required
