Development Intern (Fall) – Washington, DC Hybrid

BPC is seeking a Development Intern to research funding prospects and support donor relations at its bipartisan public policy think tank. The role includes communications, database management, fundraising trend analysis, meetings, and event support.

Description

  • Research issues and assist project analysts and staff
  • Investigate funding prospects across foundations, corporations, and individuals
  • Draft briefing memoranda for leadership and external audiences
  • Assist with donor cultivation, stewardship, and outreach
  • Enter data and help maintain accurate constituent records
  • Monitor fundraising news and trends and share relevant findings with the Development team
  • Coordinate logistics and planning for meetings and special events
  • Contribute to BPC policy initiatives on a cross-functional team
  • Build practical experience in nonprofit communications, donor relations, media outreach, and digital engagement

Requirements

  • Rising juniors or later undergraduates, currently enrolled graduate students, or graduates from the past 12 months
  • Non-U.S. citizens must hold valid work authorization or a visa permitting employment in the United States
  • BPC does not provide visa sponsorship
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, politics, communications, or nonprofit management
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with strong editing ability
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and effective at following up
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with database or design software is preferred
  • Creative and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
