Associate Workers' Compensation Attorney - Los Angeles Hybrid
Handle California workers’ compensation claims for injured workers from intake through resolution. Represent clients in hearings, discovery, negotiations, and settlement proceedings.
Description
- Oversee workers’ compensation claims from initial intake through final resolution
- Advocate for injured workers in WCAB hearings, depositions, and mandatory settlement conferences
- Complete client intake and provide consistent, empathetic case communication
- Prepare pleadings, motions, trial briefs, and legal correspondence
- Manage discovery, including depositions of parties and medical and legal experts
- Negotiate settlements and draft compromise and release agreements or stipulations with requests for awards
- Coordinate with paralegals and legal assistants to advance cases efficiently
- Monitor developments in California workers’ compensation law and related regulations
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Current membership in the California State Bar
- One to three years of workers’ compensation experience, preferably representing applicants
- Demonstrated advocacy, negotiation, and legal writing abilities
- Confidence and professionalism in courtroom settings and interactions with clients and defense counsel
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced practice
- Compassionate, client-centered approach with effective interpersonal skills
