Actuarial Trainee at Zurich Insurance

Support Zurich Insurance with actuarial reporting, analysis, pricing, and risk management activities. Develop actuarial expertise through regulatory reporting, data analysis, and strategic project work.

Description

  • Deliver clear, accurate actuarial analyses and reporting on schedule.
  • Verify that calculation data is complete, accurate, and reliable.
  • Assist with actuarial reporting, analysis, and team projects.
  • Explain technical findings and calculations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, meetings, and correspondence.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve actuarial processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help develop more efficient working practices.
  • Contribute to corporate centre and regulatory reporting, business planning, product pricing, risk management, and strategic projects.
  • Provide accurate, useful financial information to regulators, senior management, corporate stakeholders, and other key audiences.

Requirements

  • A strong degree or equivalent qualification in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Progress toward professional actuarial qualifications is desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Access or other data analysis tools is advantageous.
  • Strong interest in data analytics and converting data into meaningful insights.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • High accuracy and careful attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • A proactive, curious, and self-directed approach to learning and development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and confidence to question existing processes and identify enhancements.
