Senior Strategic Engineer – Electrical, I&C, and Mechanical
Lead lifecycle strategy, asset risk management, and technology integration across VISTRA’s nuclear fleet. Support reliability, safety, maintenance planning, and long-term fleet performance.

- Evaluate and implement generation technologies for VISTRA operations and commercial development
- Lead programs and projects that improve the commercial availability of new and existing technologies
- Develop and execute long-term lifecycle management strategies for VISTRA’s nuclear fleet
- Build long-range component replacement and refurbishment plans with schedules and critical milestones
- Project future budget requirements based on long-range lifecycle plans
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define major outage and preventive maintenance work scopes
- Manage asset tracking and oversight throughout each asset’s lifecycle
- Coordinate with supply chain partners to maintain the long-term availability and reliability of critical components and materials
- Assess asset and technology risks and implement mitigation measures
- Identify and integrate emerging technologies and industry best practices to improve fleet efficiency
- Assess how new technologies affect long-range plans and component lifecycles
- Provide technical support across the nuclear fleet
- Communicate technical information clearly to support accurate work execution and repairs
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline
- Electrical, mechanical, chemical, or nuclear engineering preferred
- Professional Engineer licensure or additional experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of current and emerging regulatory, code, and broader industry issues
- Proficiency in technical evaluation processes
- Proficiency in nuclear power plant technologies
- Eight years of experience in power plant operations, engineering, or a comparable industry preferred
- Ability to apply fundamental scientific principles
- Effective communication with colleagues, management, and external agencies
- Ability to execute projects and strategies with limited oversight
- External candidates should demonstrate a record of consistently high performance through evaluations or work history
