Senior Coding Auditor - Chennai Hybrid
Senior healthcare coding auditor responsible for validating inpatient medical records, DRG assignments, and documentation accuracy. The role includes coder mentoring and compliance with HIPAA, OIG, quality, and production standards.
विवरण
- Review selected inpatient medical records to confirm that assigned codes and DRGs are supported by clinical documentation
- Apply required specificity to diagnosis and procedure coding
- Validate discharge disposition and present-on-admission (POA) accuracy
- Use IPPS methodology in audit reviews
- Mentor and train fellow coding professionals
- Deliver continuing feedback and education to coding staff and Clinical Documentation Specialists
- Follow SOPs, project procedures, and assigned instructions
- Complete audits accurately while meeting quality and production targets
- Escalate concerns and recognize recurring trends
- Maintain daily productivity, clarification, and other required logs
- Resolve questions with the Manager or Team Lead
- Respond promptly to manager communications by email
- Maintain team adherence to HIPAA and OIG requirements
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, or Bachelor's degree in Science
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) or CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder) certification is required
- At least 2 years of experience in inpatient DRG coding or auditing
- Professional experience auditing inpatient DRG coding
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Exposure to 3M software and an NLP tool
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work flexibly
- Effective communication skills
- Availability for 40 hours per week as a full-time employee
