- Develop creative concepts and themes for seasonal collections and free patterns with the design team.
- Help the Design Manager bring seasonal design collections to completion.
- Write knitting and crochet patterns.
- Take part in technical editing and proofreading.
- Coordinate with sample makers.
- Contribute creative direction and feedback for seasonal photography.
- Prepare shot lists and garments for photo shoots.
- Track industry trends and recommend ideas to the Design Manager.
- Review seasonal consumer launch pages on Berroco.com and Ravelry.com.
- Produce social media materials, including blog posts and instructional videos.
- Suggest social media promotion concepts to the marketing team.
- Create designs for editorials and leading Berroco retailers when needed.
- Support product development and selection by swatching samples and sharing feedback.
- Proofread copy for email campaigns, sales materials, and other communications.
- Lead promotional make-alongs when needed.
- Attend industry events and trade shows when needed.
- Maintain and revise yarn labels.
- Handle pattern support questions.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of knit and crochet design experience, preferably at a yarn company.
- Portfolio of original knitwear designs demonstrating a range of gauges and techniques.
- Detailed understanding of yarns, knit structures, and garment construction.
- Strong knitting and crochet skills, including pattern grading, charting, and editing.
- Skilled in developing mood boards, color stories, and project briefs.
- Understanding of yarn construction, weights, fiber types, and their uses in knitting and crochet.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and tools for pattern formatting and charting.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive approach to design leadership.
- Ability to oversee several projects on tight timelines while maintaining close attention to detail.
