Community Doula - New York City (Hybrid)
Provide culturally responsive prenatal, birth, and postpartum support to New York Medicaid members while coordinating documentation, payer requirements, and referrals with Malama Health’s care team.
विवरण
- Deliver non-clinical prenatal, labor and birth, and postpartum doula support
- Offer culturally responsive emotional, informational, and physical care tailored to each member’s preferences and needs
- Complete accurate and timely service documentation
- Comply with applicable privacy, documentation, quality, and payer standards
- Refer members to Malama’s care team when their needs extend beyond the doula scope of practice
- Work as an independent practitioner while Malama manages insurance administration, enrollment, credentialing, billing, and payment

- Practice as an experienced birth doula in New York
- Be registered with the New York Doula Registry or eligible and willing to complete registration
- Complete required New York Medicaid and health-plan enrollment and credentialing
- Have experience supporting clients through prenatal care, labor and birth, and postpartum recovery
- Bring a positive, empathetic approach to member support
- Communicate feedback openly and honestly
- Show commitment to maternal health and Malama’s mission to improve outcomes and reduce inequities
- Have strong ties to, or lived experience within, the communities served
- Work as a 1099 independent contractor rather than a W-2 employee
